Blemished Offerings

One aspect of our worship of God is what we offer to Him. We are to offer Him our praise, our thanksgiving, and our confessions. We offer Him our engery, our gifts, and our service. Also, we give Him our offerings and our resources, which He has given to us to manage. In all we give to the Lord we are to give Him our best. We are never to give anything blemished to God. If we do, it is not acceptable to God. (Leviticus 22:20) I pray we will be honest with ourselves and the Lord about this principle.

God gave us His Only-Begotten Son to save us from our sins. Jesus gave up heaven to come to this dark world and to give His life for us. God gave His best for us, and He has reserved His best in heaven for our future. Then, He asks us to give us our best to Him who is Lord of our lives. That is why any blemished offering to the Lord is unacceptable to God. He fully deserves our full praise, our deepest thanks, and our complete confessions. We should only give Him our best effort, using all of our energy and talents and gifts with our whole heart. We must give Him the first of all with which He blesses us in the realm of money and resources. He is worthy, so we must give Him unblemished offerings.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 23-25.
