Nothing Will Stay Hidden or Secret
I am sure that we all have done things we thought were hidden or secret. We never wanted those things to become known by other people. However, Jesus told us that none of those types of things will remain hidden or secret, because they all will be made known and come to light. (Luke 8:17) This truth should cause all of us to be very careful about all that we do.
God loves us. He does not want us to sin, even in secret, because He knows that sin causes us pain and suffering in the long run. Therefore, He brings to light the things we do. He uncovers the hidden things. It is His way of deterring us from trying to hide things from Him and others. Even if He doesn't uncover something in this life, it will be revealed by the Judgment, as we stand before the Lord. How embarrassing that will be for us to see those things we thought were secret, all while being in the presence of Almighty God.
Let's keep this truth in mind every day. We should make our life an open book, never trying to cover up or keep secrets. We should always be honest and truthful, doing our best to allow God to give us the wisdom and power to do the right thing in His way. Then, we will have nothing to hide from Him or others.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Luke 9-12.
