God's Joy Over His Obedient Children
The prophet Zephaniah gave us all something to really think about. He gave us a picture of how God feels about believers when we are obedient to Him. (Zephaniah 3:17) I believe if we, as believers, realized this truth, it could transform how we look at God and ourselves.
God is always in the midst of His children, as we turn to Him in righteousness. He comes as a Victorious Warrior, who is along side us to defeat our enemies and give us the victory in life. We all need to see God as the All-powerful God who is willing and able to fight for us, if we will just listen to Him and obey. As He comes to us, He will exult over us with joy. Can you see God boasting about us and praising us with joy? He will come in the quietness of His love for us, too. Can You imagine when He stops His exultation of us and draws near in quiet, tender love? Finally, He comes to rejoice over us with shouts of joy. Can you hear Him so jubilant that He has to shout for joy because of us? That is what God feels for us when we live lives pleasing to Him. Therefore, I pray that all of us can have this image of a mighty warrior, who so loves His children that He expresses that love with shouts of joy. That should make us trust in His love and care for us, even more. It should be a great incentive to live in holiness before the Lord.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Haggai 1-2 and Zechariah 1.
