Casting All Your Cares Upon Him

I want all of us to make a list of our cares, the things which cause us concern or anxiety. Now, I want us all to take all of those cares to the Lord in prayer, and leave them all with Him, because He is the Almighty God who cares for us. (I Peter 5:7) This is a truth that we should exercise every day, because the Lord does not want us to be full of care, but full of hope and peace.(Philippians4:6,7)

Often, we live our lives focusing on all of the difficulties and trying to figure out how to solve them. We may even ask the Lord to show us that solution, but we hold on to the care and concern over the situation. That care causes us tension, stress, and even anger or worse. That is never the will of God. If we know that we belong to the Lord, and He is our Father, who is All-Powerful and All-Wise, we should know that He cares for us and does not want us to stress, but to trust Him to take those cares and work them all together for our good and for His will to be done.

How often have we worried about something, only to find that what concerned us never actually happened? That is not wise, is it? How often do we have a care that we spend hours considering, so that we even lose sleep over. Does it do any good in the end? No, It just hurts us. That is why God says for us to take all  of our cares and cast them upon Him. He cares for us too much to let us hurt ourselves. He cares so much that He wants us to live in peace. Let's do it and see what happens.

Tomorrow, I intend to read II Peter 1-3.
