Unity in Christ
There is no reason for there to be any division between believers at any time. We often think there are reasons, or we make excuses for why we are in conflict with other believers, but it should never be the case. (I Corinthians 1:10) When Paul found that there were factions or divisions in the church at Corinth, he wrote back God's answer in very clear terms. I pray we will all take it to heart.
Believers should speak the same things, have the same mind, and have the same judgment, so that there are no divisions. This is easy to understand, if we think about it correctly. All true believers have the same Father, the same Lord Jesus, and the same Holy Spirit. We all have the same Word of God contained in the Bible. Therefore, as we follow the admonition of the Father from His Word, and as we are conformed to the image of Christ by the Holy Spirit, we should be able to agree on the main things and have no conflicts or divisions.
This does not mean that denominations are bad or wrong. What it means is that all believers, no matter to what church we belong, should have a supernatural unity in Christ that comes from being in the same family. Yes, we may disagree on minor things, and we may have our preferences, but that should never cause us to be at odds with each other or upset with one another. This is especially true of believers, who are husband and wife, parents and children, or siblings. Also, it is very true for members of the same church. God intends for us to be in unity and to show Christ to the world through that supernatural unity in Christ.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Corinthians 2-4.
