When God Diminishes a Country
Egypt was one of the most powerful nations in the world. They took over other countries and dominated them because of their power. However, God brought all of that to an end in Ezekiel's time, because of the arrogance of Pharaoh to assert that he had made the Nile River, even after all God had shown them in the time of the exodus. (Ezekiel 29:9,15) It was then God decided to diminish Egypt to a lowly country that would never rule over other countries again. The same thing could happen to our country today, if we do not turn back to the Lord.
People today and rulers, in particular, may not say that they are the one who created rivers, but they do act like they are god. They make laws that are contrary to God's law, and they proclaim the laws are just and right. They act like they have power over life, so that they make killing unborn babies legal. I could go on and on, but all I want to say is that we better be praying for God to be merciful to us, or we may become a lowly nation. We may get to the place where we can't even take care of ourselves, much less exert our power in the world for good or evil. Just remember what God did to Egypt and pray fervently for God to spare us and for Christians to turn to Him, so we can see our country brought back to Him.
