Deliverance: From the Fire or Through the Fire
Just like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said to king Nebuchadnezzar, our God is able to deliver us from whatever may come into our lives. (Daniel 3:17,18) However, they also realized that God might not choose to deliver them. Either way, they would trust Him and would not worship other gods or the image made by the king. I pray we are all as strong as in our commitment to God as these three men,
Sometimes, God chooses to deliver us from the fire. He does not allow bad things to happen to us. That is a great blessing. However, it is an even greater blessing to be delivered through the fire. Think about the way the faith of these three men was strengthened to have the Lord Jesus join them in the fiery furnace. Then, when they came out, there was not even the smell of smoke on them. Their story is a great testimony to the power of God to deliver through the fire.
There are times when God does not deliver at all. Believers are hurt or killed. However, they are delivered to go into His presence in heaven, and that is even greater than anything that could have happened on earth. We need to settle our hearts to trust Jesus no matter what comes, because the worst thing that can happen is that we go to heaven for eternity with Him.
