Seek the Lord !
Once we come to know Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, we are just beginning a personal relationship with Him that is supposed to be close and fulfilling. For this to happen we must seek Him, seek to know Him better and better, as we experience all He has for us. (Psalm 105:4) The joy of our lives comes when we regularly see His face, as He comes to us to show us His face or His presence.
That is why the psalmist admonishes us to seek the Lord. He is our Lord and our Friend, but we must seek to be His friend. He has strength that is all-powerful, but we must seek Him to experience His strength in our lives. He desires to draw close to us, but we must draw close to Him first, so we can see His face. It must be the desire of our hearts, because He knows if we are a fake seeker, a shallow friend.
I am at a retreat with John and a group of men. The theme is the fire of God's presence and experiencing Him fully. We are seeking the Lord and His strength. We are seeking His face evermore. I pray all of you will join us in this quest. It will enrich your life greatly.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 106-108.
