God's Providence
God is outside of time and space, so He can look at the history and the future of the universe all at once. That is why God can always carry out His will. He never forgets the past, and He always knows the future, so He does the right thing based on all of the facts. He is simply amazing! We call God's ability to look into the future His providence, which literally means "to see before." Esther is a great example of God's providence. (Esther 2:17) God worked it out for her to be in the right place when Queen Vashti was deposed. He had prepared her already to carry out His will, since He knew there would be a plot to get rid of His people. Think about how significant that is for us.
Nothing takes God by surprise. He knows what will happen to us today and tomorrow. He knows just what we need to do His will, and He knows how He has prepared us to be used by Him for His kingdom. Therefore, we should trust Him completely as Esther did, so that we can receive the blessings of doing what He has for us. Of course, if we reject what He calls us to do, He can use someone else, but we miss out on why He saved us and made us the way we are. As we read the rest of Esther, keep this in mind and marvel at the providence of God.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Esther 3-5.
