Bless the Lord for living in America
As Moses prepared the people to take over the Promised Land and to keep all of God's laws, he taught them a valuable lesson about being thankful. Moses admonished them to bless the Lord for the good land He had given them, once they took the land and ate freely of its bounty. (Deuteronomy 8:10) We should apply this lesson to our lives today.
There should not be a day that we do not bless the Lord for allowing us to live in America. It is truly a land of milk and honey. We enjoy more abundance than any other nation on earth. Even the poorest of our people are much better off than the people in most of the world.
I know we have much immorality, and there are many serious sinful conditions that have overtaken our land. However, none of those things are God's fault. We failed to follow God like Israel did. God gave us all of the resources needed to succeed in this world, and we should bless Him for that, and we should do all we can do to pray for God to move our people back to Him, so we can truly enjoy the favor of God in this good land.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 9-12.
