What Would It Take?
When God unleashes His plagues on the world during the seven years of the Tribulation time, it will be filled with terrible suffering and pain. Just glance over chapters 7 and 8 of Revelation, and see that one third of the trees and all of the grass will be burned up, one third of the sea creatures will die and one third of the ships will sink, many people will die from bitter water, one third of the light will be taken from the sun, moon, and stars, all of the unbelievers will be tormented for five months with stings like those of a scorpion, and in all of this one third of the people on earth will die. All of this will obviously be the work of God, but none of the unbelievers will repent and turn to God. (Revelation 9:20,21) I wonder what it would take for them to repent?
All around us people are worshiping demons and dead idols. They are murdering others and committing sorcery, sexual immorality, and theft. God is trying to get them to repent and turn to Him now, by convicting them by His Holy Spirit. In the Tribulation He will turn up the heat even more, hoping many people will repent. He does all of this out of love, because He knows human nature. Often, it takes much pain for us to do the right thing. What would it take for you to repent and turn from whatever you are doing now to trust Jesus as Lord and Savior? That is an important question for every person. I pray you will consider it prayerfully, and turn to the Lord before it is eternally too late.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 11-13.
