The Marriage of the Lamb
One day there will be the most glorious wedding ever held. The Lamb of God will receive His bride to Himself, and the church will forever be with Him in heaven. (Revelation 19:7,8) I can't wait to experience that moment. I hope you are prepared to be there, too.
The church is the Bride of Christ. The church is all of the people who have trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Therefore, this wedding can't happen until the last person is saved during the Tribulation time and that person plus all who know Christ are in heaven. Once the bride is complete the wedding will begin.
Just like an earthly wedding, it will bring the full completion of our union with Christ. When we are saved, we belong to Him, but we are physically separated from Him. Then, when we go to heaven, we will be with the Lord, waiting for the completion of the bride. Once the wedding is over, all of us, as believers, will enjoy perfect fellowship with our Lord individually and collectively for eternity. We will be one with Him to serve Him forever, just as a godly wife submits to her husband.
Read the end of Revelation 19 to see one of the first things we will do with Christ. We will return to earth with Him to reign for 1,000 years, after He puts an end to the battle of Armageddon with the Sword of His mouth. What a wonderful honeymoon to be with Christ and to reign with Him over the Millennial Kingdom. That will only be the beginning of eternity with Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 20-22.
