Evil Men and Impostors
It seems that our world is filled with evil people and impostors. We are seeing the fulfillment of Paul's prophecy. (II Timothy 3:13,14) The Lord showed Paul almost 2,000 years ago that "evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse." I believe that describes our present situation well.
We see more and more evil people, because less and less people know the Lord all around the Lord. Yes, there are places in the world that are having many people saved and many churches started, but even there the evil people are getting worse and worse. They are deceiving many people and being deceived just like Paul said. It could be discouraging, but we must remain faithful.
Paul's advice to Timothy, his son in the faith, was what we need to hear in our time. We must continue in the things we have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom we have learned them. Rejoice, if you have been taught the truth of God and His Word. Determine that you will continue doing those things that you have been assured of. Never forget that it was God who taught you those things using faithful preachers and teachers. Therefore, no matter how bad the evil people and impostors may become, we are to keep being faithful. I pray that you have made that commitment already or you will make that commitment now, because we do not know what might happen tomorrow.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Timothy 4 and Titus 1-3.
