The Source of Our Strength
Life is busy. It seems that the more technology we have to make our lives easier, the more hectic life becomes. It is hard to get a full night's sleep, and it is tiring to say the least. However, those who know the Lord have a source of strength that will sustain us when nothing else will. (Isaiah 40:30,31) Let me explain this important reality.
We do not get rested by watching TV. Our relaxation does not comes from movies or the Internet. We will not thrive if we depend on health food and vitamins, as good as they are for us. If we go to the gym, and we work out regularly, we can still become weary from the stress of life. However, "those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." How is that possible? They Lord is our strength. When we take time to sit before Him and look expectantly to Him for all that we need, He knows just how to refresh us and to renew us. We give Him our stress, and He removes it with its harmful effects. In short, when we spend quality time with the Lord, seeking to get what He has for us, we will not lack anything we need to live as He desires.
That is why I call my time with the Lord an "unhurried time." It is time to wait on the Lord and wait for the Lord to direct me and restore my strength physically and spiritually. It is the key to having strength, even when the young people are fainting. I recommend it to everyone. It is God's way of providing for His faithful children.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 44-46.
