Putting an End to Complaining
It is clear from this section of Numbers that God hates complaining. He took swift action against Korah's group which complained against Moses and Aaron by killing them in a dramatic fashion. Then, He showed his support for Aaron and his family, the tribe of Levi by having his rod bud and produce almonds.(Numbers 17:5) I believe we need to take these lessons to heart.
Anything that makes God so angry that He would kill someone is a serious sin. I do not think we believe that complaining is that serious, but we need to. God will not take our complaining lightly. We should eliminate all complaining from our lives.(Philippians 2:14)
Also, remember that God does give special positions to certain families and people. We must not envy them and complain about them, but we should support them and pray for them. When we complain against people, we are really complaining against God, if He gave them that responsibility. Again, He does not take that kind of attitude well. He will show us that He appointed those folks, and we are to stop our complaining and work together.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 19-21.
