Complete Obedience
Complete obedience is the only kind of obedience. Incomplete obedience is disobedience. That is why it is so significant that the children of Israel completely obeyed all that God had told Moses to do in preparing the tabernacle and all of its furnishings, along with the clothes for the priests.(Exodus 39:42,43) We would all do well to learn from this.
It is very easy to commit the sin of incomplete obedience to God. At times I am busy when the Lord lays it on my heart to call someone or to do something. I am tempted to say to the Lord, "I am too busy now, but I will do it later." That is always the wrong response. When God shows us what to do, the only righteous response is to go ahead and do it then. He would not tell us to do it, if it was not the right timing and the right circumstances.
Also, when God tells us how to do something, we are tempted to change what He tells us. That is always wrong, too. His way is the only correct way, because He is the only one who knows everything and sees the beginning and the end of all things at the same time. We must trust Him enough to simply obey completely.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 40 and Leviticus 1-2.
