Dying to Live
We can never be good enough to have our sins forgiven. There is no ritual or religion we can follow that brings us salvation. It is only a miraculous change that is brought about through faith in Christ that prompts God to gives us life eternal.(Galatians 2:20) This verse is God's holy 220, like high voltage electricity. It reveals to us the only power that can save us from sin.
We come to know Christ by faith, not by works. When God sees our faith, which is not a work,(Romans 4) He reaches down to change us. The first thing that happens is the old person dies. We are crucified with Christ. Then, we have new life, because He comes to reside in us, and He is our life. It is only by His power we have eternal life, not our power. Therefore, we keep living by faith in the One who loved us and died for us. It is not just a one time faith. It is a once and for all faith decision to trust Christ. What a transformation! That can only happen by God's power to give us new life after we have died with Christ.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Galatians 3-5.
