Trusting God When Others Don't

Caleb was wholly faithful to God, even though he lived in a time when others around him did not trust the Lord.(Joshua 14:7,8) He went against the flow. He did not give in to peer pressure. His heart was full of faith, and nothing stopped him from believing God. I pray that we all can have faith like Caleb.

We are influenced by other people because we want to be accepted and not rejected. Everyone wants to be loved by others. We do not like it when people criticize us. We want to be comfortable, for the most part, so we shy away from disagreements. However, if we let those things stop us from trusting the Lord, we are following people, not God. Faith is not just what is in our hearts. It is what we do, because we have put out trust in God. Caleb and Joshua were two against 10 when the spies returned from going through the Promised Land. They knew they could take the land, when the others doubted. They never wavered in their belief in God. That is the kind of faith that honors God and that God honors. Therefore, He richly blessed Caleb and Joshua. He will do the same for us today, if we will trust Him even when others don't.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Joshua 17-19
