Run To Win!

Jesus is worthy! He is worthy of us doing whatever He commands. Since the Christian life is like a race, Paul told us to strive to be the winner, not just be an "also ran."(I Corinthians 9:24) The determination we put into living the Christian life makes all of the difference. Yes, the power comes from the Spirit, not the flesh, but we must be willing to do His will.

What is your purpose in life? Do you want to sin less than half of the time, so you can say you are good? Do you want to be a better Christian than 51% of believers? If we set the bar low, we will never come close to what the Lord designed for us in life. We must strive to be the best, to win the prize of coming in first, not in the middle of the pack. The great thing is that this goal is open to any believer. It does not take intelligence or money. All it takes is obedience. We must strive for total obedience. Then, we can come in first.

It is not a pride thing. It is a principle thing. Sin destroys. We should hate it. Holiness brings joy and peace. Why not strive to be the best disciple, so you can experience the ultimate in life? Then, when you stand before the Lord, He can put that imperishable crown on your head. What a life!

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Corinthians 10-12.
