More Than Conquerors
A Christian should never live in defeat, because once we are in Christ, we have His power to be more than conquerors in every area of life.(Romans 8:37) I am not saying that all of a sudden life gets easy. Warfare is difficult. It takes energy, effort, and a good strategy to conquer things. All the Bible is saying is that we have all of what we need through Christ who loved us, died for us, and saved us.
How are you doing as a conqueror? Is there a person or a problem that is getting the best of you? If you are defeated by anything or anyone, you will be depressed and quit trying to overcome. That is just where Satan wants you. He is good at confusing people and pointing us in the wrong direction. However, he is no problem for Christ. If we live in the Spirit and forsake the flesh, we have all of the power of Christ to defeat Satan's works in our lives. Read Romans 8. It is perfectly clear.
Stop to consider who you are in Christ. I heard a great message on that yesterday from Casey Matthews at NHBC. You are a dearly loved child of God, who has been adopted into God's family by grace through faith in Christ. Now, you are a saint, set apart for God's use. He has declared you righteous before Him because the blood of Christ has cleansed your sins. You are forgiven, and God has forgotten your sins. Now, you can crawl up in the lap of All-Mighty God, tell Him your problem, ask Him what to do about it, and He will lovingly show you what to do and give you the power to do, if you will simply trust Him as a child of the King. Try it. It will transform your life.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 10-12.
