Truth, Justice, and Peace
In America we have been engulfed in a culture which operates against God's principles. Christians are to shine as lights in the darkness to bring out truth, justice, and peace.(Zechariah 8:16,17) If we will consistently do these things that God commands, our lives will stand in stark contrast to those around us. This difference will lead some people to seek the Lord.
We are to speak truth in a day when it is hard to find the truth in all of the information that bombards people. We are to stand up for justice for all people in our society in a day when justice is perverted. We are to seek peace between people and groups in a world that uses conflict to advance agendas. We are not to think evil of our neighbor in a world where everyone seems to be suspicious and afraid of each other. We are to stay away from falsehood in any form, so that our culture knows they can trust what we say.
It breaks the heart of God to see all of the things that He hates growing more and more prevalent each day. We are the salt and the light. We are to be the ones who bring a smile to His face, as He sees us doing what He loves. It will not be easy, but it is His way, and we are people of The Way.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 11-13.
