Our Eternal King
When I was at Baylor, the choir sang a song named "My Eternal King" or "Our Eternal King." It was fabulous. It could have been based on Psalm 145:13. David realized that God was not only eternal, but He was the King over an eternal kingdom. As the song said, He deserves to be worshiped for that reason alone. He is our Eternal King.
As I have said before many times, I think some people want their sins forgiven, so they won't go to hell, but they want to live their lives as they desire. The fail to grasp the concept of God being the King over a kingdom and Jesus being our Lord. We need to let this sink into our hearts deeply. We change. We are not in control. We are servants, not masters. We live to worship and serve the Lord, once we come to know Him.
There is no greater life than to be a citizen of His eternal kingdom. There is no greater calling than to lead others to trust Christ and become a citizen, too. There is not other war or conflict that amounts to anything compared to the spiritual warfare between the forces of Satan and the forces of our Eternal King. Let's keep our eyes on Him, and do all we can to let everyone know about who has dominion.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 148-150.
