What Can Man Do To Me?
So many people live in constant anxiety and fear about what other people think or what they could do to them. David had come to a great place in his walk with the Lord. He realized that once he was secure in his relationship with the Lord, there was not anything really bad that a human being could do to him.(Psalm 56:11) This is the place the Lord wants every person to be.
What does it matter what people think, if the Lord of All thinks highly of us? It is His opinion and judgments that matter the most. If He is pleased with our lifestyle, decisions, and behavior, we should not mind what people think.
What effect does the ridicule and punishment of man have upon us? It hurts for a minute, but we remember that they did the same things to Jesus. Why should we expect different treatment? Also, God promises to bless us if we are persecuted for His name's sake.
What happens if we are martyred for our faith in Him? We go to heaven and experience eternal bliss with the Lord. That is far better than anything that could happen to us here.
See what I mean? The thing we should be concerned about is what God says about us and what He can do to us. Once we know we are right with Him, man can't touch us, except for a very temporary season before we step into eternity. Let's decide to take our eyes off of people, trust the Lord, and look to Him for all of our directions, praise, and security.
