Confusing the Enemy

One of the ways that God helps His people is to confuse our enemies. This is true for human enemies, as well as, for Satan and his demons. God knows just what to do to throw them off and give us the victory, like He did for Israel when He thundered against the Philistines.(I Samuel 7:10)

Satan is smart, but He is no match for All-knowing, All-wise God. People who are used by Satan are crafty like him, but they are easily defeated when God's people use God's wisdom and discernment. Unfortunately, we sometimes try to fight Satan with our own knowledge and strength, instead of allowing God to help us. We must stay filled with His Spirit constantly, listening for His directions, and obeying what He says. Then, He will do whatever we need, so we can overcome our enemies. It may be a great battle, or the battle may be over before it starts. Our part is to fully trust Him.

In Samuel 7 the people had fully turned away from their idols, and  they were worshiping God alone. Samuel was seeking God for them with the burnt offering. Then, God thundered to confuse the Philistines. Israel won the victory after experiencing a humiliating defeat just 7 months before. How about you today? Is your heart set on God alone? Are you worshiping Him in all you do? If so, you can live in confidence knowing He will fight for you today and confuse the enemies who come against you, if that is what needs to be done.

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Samuel 8-11.
