Unite My Heart

A divided heart is one of the most destructive things a believer can have. It leads to constant stress and unrest in our lives. We must pray the prayer of David in Psalm 86:11, and solve the problem of a divided heart. We must sincerely call out to God, "Unite my heart to fear Your name."

As a believer we receive the Holy Spirit at salvation, so that we hear His voice showing us God's way. We still have a choice, though. We must choose to listen to Him or to listen to the world, the flesh, or the Devil. If we try to listen to both and decide in each situation what to do, we will be torn apart by the stress of it all. God never intended nor designed this to happen. His desire is for every believer to decide to stop listening to anyone but Him. If we allow the Spirit to take control of us by dying to self and what we want and living His way, we can have a united heart that only seeks the Lord. This is when rest and peace enter our lives, and we enjoy life as God designed.

If you are suffering from a divided heart, please follow David's example. Ask God to teach you His way and show you His truth. Ask for a united heart that fears the name of the Lord, so that you do not even listen to anyone or anything else. Then, you will know the abundant life.(John 10:10)

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 87-89.
