God's Comfort Delights My Soul
No one is exempt from anxieties and stress. While we are in this world, we will have tribulation. Jesus assured us of that. However, we have a loving Father who knows our needs, and He has the solution for anxiety.(Psalm 94:19) His Comfort delights our souls in the midst of the anxieties. What a blessing!
The key is to avail ourselves of His comfort. From where does His comfort come? The Holy Spirit is "The Comforter." We must allow the Spirit to fill us and control us, so we can know His comfort, and our spirits can be delighted. Then, we have to allow the Spirit to guide our mind, will, and emotions. Those are the parts of our soul. If your mind is not set on the Lord, anxieties will overtake you. However, if you set your gaze on Him, His comfort can and will ease your mind. When we don't know what to do, so we fret over the options, we are not giving Him our will. He can show us what decisions to make, but we have to rest in Him. Finally, our emotions are huge. The fleshly emotions are terrible. They will lead us from the Lord and His comfort. However, when we have been filled with the Spirit, He remakes our emotions into godly emotions. We feel the way the Lord designed us to feel before there was sin in the world. Once these are practiced continually, our souls are delighted by God's comfort.
I pray that each of us will know the comfort and the state of having a soul that is delighted by God. It is an oasis in a world of anxiety. It is a little heaven on earth. It is God's will for His children.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 98-100.
