Getting Mad At God
Many people get mad at God because situations happen in their lives that give them trouble. Then, they blame God for allowing them to happen or for causing them to happen. I am sure we have all seen this and even experienced it ourselves. We have someone close to us get sick or pass away. We wonder why God did not heal that person, and we feel God was wrong. Someone loses a job or has another financial problem, and we ask God why He didn't take care of that situation the way we wanted Him to. The list goes on and on.
The truth is that God is always right in what He allows or causes to happen in our lives. He sees the end and the beginning. He knows everyone and everything. Therefore, His decision is the wise one, even if we can't understand it with our limited minds and understanding. We need to stop blaming God. I think David Ring, the evangelist with cerebral palsy is right. He says to stop asking God why He did something. Instead, ask Him what He is trying to teach us through it. Now, I know we have to ask why sometimes, but it can be rebellious against God. We need to accept His wisdom and goodness, so that we see He has a purpose that will help us in everything.
That is what Nehemiah told the people of Israel when they sinned.(Nehemiah 9:33) I am sure he heard the complaining and rationalizing. He knew they had to stop getting mad at God and look to their own hearts. We are the ones who sin and cause ourselves problems. It is never good to try to blame God or other people for our sins.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Nehemiah 11-13.
