Belonging To God
Some people have a big problem because they do not believe they fit in with other people at school, or at work, or even in their own family. They have a huge desire to belong and to be accepted by those around them. It can cause them to be depressed. They feel like they are not worth very much. God does not want that to happen to anyone. He wants them to belong to Him.
Leviticus 20:26 says, "And you shall be holy to Me, for I, the Lord, am holy, and have separated you from the peoples. that you should be Mine." Once we come to know the Lord, He sets us apart from this world, so we can be His. What a privilege! We should never doubt our worth or think that we are left out, because we are accepted by the God of the universe. Belonging to God is the greatest thing that can ever happen to anyone.
This should give every believer the motivation to be holy. We are to be like Jesus, because we belong to Him. We want to live in a way that honors Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 22-25.
