Being Instantly Obedient

God really does speak to us, as believers.(John 10) If we know Him, we know His voice, and we can respond to what He reveals to us. That is the basis of a relationship with God. Then, there is faith. That means dependence or trust. When He speaks to us, do we trust Him and do it? If we don't, we are not acting in faith. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, because He knows we are to live by faith, as well as being saved by grace through faith. So, if we act in faith, we do what God says "instantly." Why to we need to do it instantly? It is because He communicates to us what we need to do one step at a time. He reveals the next thing for us to do at the right time to do it. It is the time we are ready or the other person is ready. However, if we delay, we miss His window of opportunity. We are just plain disobedient. Therefore, we need to be sensitive to what He is saying and do it instantly. He will always bless us when we do that and bless others through us that way.

It takes surrendering to God's agenda for our lives. It is allowing Him to be Lord, the Boss. It is letting Him know by our actions that we know we can't do anything without Him.(John 15:5) It is being a bond-servant of Jesus and a faithful son of the Father. That is how life is meant to be lived. It is the abundant life.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Joshua 5-7.
February 27 – John 6:44
Make a list of all of the non-Christian people in your life with whom you have a relationship. Pray that God will draw them to Himself by the power of His Spirit, so they will clearly see their need for the Lord to save them from their sins.
