Christ Building His Church
We had a meaningful Lord's Supper Service today for our morning worship. Then, at the end Jesus added to our church family. The thing that was striking was not just that there were some people who joined our church family. The great thing is that there were two families who came forward, and in both cases all of the members of the family had come to know Christ. What a blessing for those parents to know that their children have come to trust Christ as Lord and Savior. Eternity is settled for the whole family.
We started a new Men's Connection Group this morning, too. It was a good start for this group which hopes to see a lot of men come to Christ and come to be a part of our church. I believe God is going to use that group to be a great blessing in the lives of many men. There are so many who need the Lord and need the encouragement of other men. I pray that God will use this group to build His church.
Church is not about us being comfortable. It is about the Lord. When we know it is about Him, then, we know it is about "them." Jesus died so all could come to know Him and have eternal life. The last thing we need to do is to keep the gospel to ourselves. I pray that we will be good witnesses to our children, so they will come to know Christ. Also, let's let others see Jesus in us, and let's let them hear the gospel from us, so they can become a part of God's family. Let's allow Christ to use us to build His church.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 23-25.
