Praise is Beautiful
One phrase in Psalm 147:1 caught my mind and my heart this morning. The end of the verse says, "Praise is beautiful." My mind began to race through the images of the beauty of praise.
A group of believers praising the Lord is beautiful. The serene look on their faces. The joy in their voices. The peace that comes through as they sing praises to the Lord of the universe.
The very words of praise are beautiful. They are wholesome, uplifting words, instead of harsh, demeaning words. They build up the person being praised, and they bless the Lord as we praise Him.
The very act of praise is beautiful because it comes from a heart of love. Praise focuses on the wonderful perfection of God and His great works of grace toward us. It is unselfish and kind.
Our lives will be more beautiful when we practice praise for people and for the Lord more often. When other people see and hear the beauty of praise, they will be drawn to the One who is worthy of all praise. When they come to know Him and they bow in praise, that is extraordinary beauty.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 148-150 and Proverbs 1.
