Jesus is Able
In all of the varied experiences of my life I have found that Jesus is able to meet any need. There are so many people who only see Him as the one to forgive our sins. Remember, He is Lord. As the Lord of all, He has all power to do anything within His will. At the same time He is love, so He always does the right thing for us. Therefore, I have not always had things go the way I would have chosen, but as I trusted Him, He has worked them all out for good in His time and in His way.
I am thinking about this in the context of my life this week. I have spoken to a man who needs a job, and I told him, Jesus is able. I have spoken with a man who was at the point of suicide, and I assured him that Jesus is able. I prayed with parents of premature twins in the NICU, and I encouraged them to know that Jesus is able. I counseled with a man in jail, who has lost all of his friends, and I made sure that He knew Jesus is able. I visited a man in assisted living who would rather be at home, and I affirmed again to him that Jesus is able.
The reason I can make that confident assertion to all of those people is that I have seen His power in my life over and over. It is like David and Goliath. How did David know he could kill Goliath? It was because God had given him the power to kill the lion and the bear while he was protecting his sheep. He knew He could take down any giant, if it was God's will. We all should take heart and focus on our Jesus, because He is able!
Tomorrow, I intend to read Daniel 11-12 and Jude.
