A Party in Heaven
This evening a lot of folks are having Super Bowl parties. That is great fun. However, it is nothing compared to a party in Heaven. This morning we had a wonderful time of worship. The music really spoke to our hearts, and the Lord met with us. That is still not like a party in heaven. We had a small party for my parents' fifty-sixth wedding anniversary after church. That is a fantastic blessing, but it still does not compare with a Heavenly party.
Some of you know what I am talking about, but let me explain. This morning in our time of worship we had a man for whom several of us had been praying confess Jesus as Lord of his life. At the end of the Lord's Supper he gave in to the convicting power of the Spirit, and he was not ashamed to come and let everyone know that he needed Jesus in his life. At that moment there was a party in Heaven. The angels of God rejoiced in the presence of the Lord to see one lost soul come to salvation. It is the greatest miracle that can ever happen. My heart longs to see a party break out in Heaven every day and especially every Sunday when we come together.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 29-30 and Matthew 21:23-46.
