The End of Time

Yesterday, I finished reading a book by Joel Rosenberg entitled The Ezekiel Option. It was an excellent book that was very thought provoking, especially when we see Russia invading the country of Georgia. I have read two other books by Joel Rosenberg, and in each case he had some great insights into the end times. The books are fictional, but they are based on Biblical truths. I recommend them, not only for their Biblical content, but for the adventure.

How much do you think about the return of Christ? How is your life different, because you realize that the end of time as we know it may come very soon? I do not think that most Christians give it much thought at all. I think they are so wrapped up in every day life that they do not even consider the end of time. That is a tragedy! Jesus intends for us to be a discerner of the times. He intends for us to have an urgency for reaching the world around us. Instead, most Christians never spend any time or effort trying to reach their neighbors, friends, or family for Christ. One day it will be eternally too late, and that day could come soon.

How should our lives be different because we know that all of this will be burned up in the end? What should be our focus since we can't take the earthly things to Heaven? Who would God have us to reach out to in love? These are the kinds of questions we should all ask ourselves each day. Then, we should be quick to obey the voice of the Lord, so eternity won't catch us with regrets.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 120-122 and I Corinthians 9.
