Whatever the Lord Pleases
It seems like many people think that God can be manipulated to do what they want Him to do. That is why different religions have their rituals and sacrifices. That is why some people pray. They think they can talk God into doing things their way. That is a lie of the devil. God does whatever He pleases. (Psalm 135:6) That is what He revealed to us through the psalmist. God rules in heavens and on earth. There is no where that He is not sovereign. We need to accept that fact, and we need to realize it is a very good thing, not a bad thing, at all.
What would the world be like if God could be manipulated? It would be chaos. There would be no stability to laws and principles. In fact, the world would really be ruled by people and not God. How would that work? Just think about how people and governments do things. It is a mess. When was the last time you had to call an office to ask a question or to get something done? Did it go smoothly, and did they do what they said? I don't find that to happen very often. God is a whole different story. He is consistent. He always does what He says He will do. He has created the world, and He rules the world as He pleases. His way is always perfect. That is why we need to trust in the Lord, not people. We need to see what His Word says and go by that because we know his way is best. See what I mean? It is much better to let God be God, and for us to follow His leadership, instead of us trying to get our way.
