Immoveable

Many of us are like shifting sand. One day we are up, and the next day we are down. We are driven by the forces of this world, and we are always reacting to our own circumstances. We are unstable, because we are trusting in the wrong things. God doesn't mean for our lives to be like this. He wants us to be stable and immoveable. The psalmist knew this truth. (Psalm 125:1,2) When he looked at Mount Zion, he knew God had made it immoveable forever, and he knew that was God's will for believers, too. If we trust in the Lord, we will be like mountains, because God will surround us with His power forever. We all need to hear what the psalmist said.

What are we trusting? If we trust in our own intellect, we will fail, and we will be shaken. If we are trusting in our own human power, we will end up hopeless. There is only one source of eternal strength and stability. That is the Lord. It begins with trusting Jesus for our salvation. Then, we are in right standing with God forever. However, each day after that, we have to trust the Lord alone, not ourselves, or other people and things. He is our Rock. When we rest in Him, we will not be moved. We will be mountains of strength in a very mixed up world. People will see the difference and know it comes from the Lord.
