Bold with Strength in My Soul
It seems like we often lack confidence, and we get weak. This is part of our human condition. Our flesh, or our human nature, leads us to have all kinds of fears and confusion, if we listen to what Satan tells us through that door to our lives. Also, our flesh is weak. We are no match for the devil or many of our problems, if we face them only in our own power and ability. This keeps us unsteady, and unable to live an abundant life. However, David had found the solution to this common dilemma. (Psalm 138:3) He found his strength in prayer. When he called to the Lord, He answered him. God made him bold with strength in his soul. Now, when God does that, there is nothing we can't accomplish, and life is so much better.
God knows we are complex beings, since He designed us. Each of us has a soul, or it is better to say, we are a soul. The soul is who we are as a person. It is made up of our mind, our will, and our emotions. The soul leads us in how we think, how we decide, and how we feel. Therefore, it is the major factor in our life, whether we do well or not. When God answers our prayer for strength, and He gives us boldness and strength in our soul, it affects all three areas. Our mind is confident in what we know to be the truth, and we can stick to it. Our will is confident in how to make our decisions, so we make the right ones. Our emotions are in line with how God wants us to feel, and we feel deeply about things the way God does. When God gives us this kind of strength, we are hitting on all cylinders. We experience that abundant life God has for us. However, we have to be persistent in this prayer, calling out to God all of the time, or the flesh will creep back into control and ruin things again.
