The Fountain and the Light

The imagery of the Bible is amazing. It gives us such insights into the nature and will of God, if we will meditate on it. David gave us two wonderful images for us to consider today. (Psalm 36:9) Please, take time to absorb what he is saying and not just read the words.

"For with You is the fountain of life." Life as we know it in the flesh comes to an end. If we do not know the Lord, we do not just die once, but twice, as we are cast into the Lake of Fire for eternity. However, if we do know the Lord, we have life that flows into eternity in a fantastic place called Heaven. The picture of a fountain of life is so descriptive. The life that God gives is never ending. It is fresh and new all of the time. There is no stagnation with His life. I am so glad that I found the fountain of life when I trusted Christ. It is refreshing every day.

"In Your light we see light." We are in darkness, because of our sin, until we come to know the Lord Jesus. Those who don't know Him might think they can see the meaning of life, but they are blind, being in darkness. All they can do is speculate, and they miss the truth almost all of the time. However, those who know Him see light, as we draw close to Him. The closer we are the brighter the light. We do not have light on our own, but His light is more than enough to navigate the deep waters of life and to see the difficult truths of the world. Thanks You Lord for your light!

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 37-39.
