My God
Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship with the God of the universe. I have said that many times. I pray it has really sunk in for all of us. He is not just God. He is my God. He personally cares for me. I talk with Him, and He talks with me. I spend time with Him, and He walks with me all of the time. I do what He wants me to do, and He blesses me in so many ways all of the time. It is such a fulfilling relationship!
The prophet Isaiah enjoyed that kind of personal relationship with God during His life. He made sure the people around him knew that, as well as recording it for us in the Bible. (Isaiah 25:1) "O Lord, I will honor and praise Your name, for You are my God. You do such wonderful things. You planned them long ago, and now You have accomplished them." That is a great verse for all of us to contemplate. Let's see what God will show us today.
Our God is Lord of all. He is in charge of all of His creation, including all of us. He is my Lord. That means I answer to Him, and He gets to tell me what to do and how to do it. That is not a hindrance or a drag for me, because He loves me, and He knows what is best for me and what will bring me the most joy. I honor and praise the name of my Lord and my God because of who He is. Just to think that I have a relationship with the most important Person in the world. Who wouldn't be thrilled?
Also, my God knew me before I was born. He knew everything about me before I was conceived. He loved me so much then that He started planning things for me then. The wonderful things He planned were just for me, based on my needs and my personality. Now, I can look back over my life and see how God accomplished all of those wonderful things. It is so marvelous to think that God has done this for every single person ever born, because wants all of us to know Him personally so He can loves us and bless us. We all should jump at the chance to make Jesus Lord of our lives and enjoy a relationship with Him forever.
