The Powerful Presence of God

 There are times when God makes His presence known in very powerful ways. Those are very special times for us. We see and hear God so clearly that there is no doubt He is alive and with us at that moment. Just think back over your life, and  remember those times you encountered the presence of Almighty God.

When the construction of the temple was completed, God showed Himself to the people in Jerusalem that day.  (II Chronicles 7:1) When Solomon finished praying the fire fell from heaven and consumed the sacrifices. Then, the glory of the Lord filled the temple so the priests had to leave. There was no doubt that God showed up.

The day I trusted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at Peachcrest Baptist Church,  the Lord spoke to my heart very clearly. As Brother Arwood talked about Revelation 3:20, I knew He was knocking on my heart. I responded to His presence and His call, and God saved me by His grace.

Then, when God called me to preach, I heard His voice very clearly. It was not audible, but I knew the exact words He spoke. He said, "I want you to preach the gospel, so people can be saved, and that will help them forever." It was so real as my friend, Jim, drove us down Midway Road. I will never forget the presence of God.
