Reasons to be Thankful

I am afraid that we are not as thankful to God as we should be. It seems to me that many of us are not satisfied with what we have, but we are always wanting more. We are wanting God to show us what He is going to do in advance, so we do not have to trust Him one day at a  time. Therefore, when He doesn't show us, we are put out with God instead of being thankful.

There are very clear Biblical reasons for being thankful for the Lord all of the time. (I Chronicles 16:34) We are to give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His faithfulness is everlasting. Those two reasons are more than enough reasons to be thankful to the Lord every day, no matter what happens to us.

God is good. His character is perfect. He never does the wrong thing. He always doe the right thing. He is kind to us, and He showers His grace on us. He is merciful to us when we sin. He treats us so much better than we deserve to be treated. For all of this we should be thankful to God.

God is always faithful. In fact, His faithfulness is everlasting. Therefore, we can always know that He will do what He said He will do. He will always keep His promises, and there are many of them. He will never fail us when we are in a jam. We should be thankful to God for the faithfulness He has already shown us and for the faithfulness He will show us for eternity.
