Openly Declaring Jesus is Lord

People openly declare their belief in a lot of things. I hear the football fans openly shouting their belief that their team is No.1 all of the time. Others are very open in their belief in their country being the best. However, there is only one thing that people really need to openly declare that affects their eternity.

Paul was very precise in what he said about this. (Romans 10:9,13) If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. The most important thing to openly declare is "Jesus is Lord." That changes everything.

If Jesus is truly Lord of our life, we will not be ashamed to let others know. In fact, we will want to shout it to everyone, because knowing Him is so wonderful. We make Him our Lord by putting our faith in Him and doing whatever He says to do. He is the One in charge once we surrender to Him in faith.

The resurrection shows that He is Lord. That is why believing that God raised Him from the dead is essential to our salvation. Jesus died for our sins, and when the Father raised Him from the dead, He was confirming for everyone that He had accepted His sacrifice, and He was pleased to exalt Him before all people.
