Receiving like a Child

Children are such a blessing, aren't they? We are blessed to be able to raise them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, as we teach them many things. However, we also learn some very important things from children. The simplicity of how they do things, shows us, as adults, that we make things too complicated many times.

Jesus brought this truth to light for His disciples. (Mark 10:15) He said, "I tell you the truth; anyone who doesn't receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it." I would say we all need to learn to receive like a child if we haven't done so yet, so we can enter the kingdom of God

Children receive instructions with a great amount of trust in their father or mother. When they need to know something, they ask sincere questions. Then, they do what their parent has told them to do, exactly as they said to do it. There is no second guessing or holding back.

When we receive the kingdom of God, we must listen to Him and receive the fact that He is Lord of all. He is in charge. Whatever He says is what we must do. We do not have to fully understand. We simply need to trust and obey. Also, we must receive it and do it with all of our heart. That is receiving the kingdom of God like a child.
