God's Own Special Treasure

Most of us have things that we consider very special to us. It could be something we received from our parents or other relatives. It could be a very nice gift from a friend. Wherever it comes from, we cherish it. and we protect it. That is how God feels about His obedient people.

God told His people this in Malachi's time. (Malachi 3:17) "They will be My people," says the Lord of Heaven's Armies. "On the day when I act in judgment, they will be My own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child." That shows us God's heart for His obedient children.

As a believer, we need to know how much God values us. We are very special to Him. He doesn't want us to get harmed. He protects us from anything that would destroy us. Of course, we still have trials, but He is always with us and never gives us more than we can bear, because of His love for us.

Then, at the end of our life, we will stand before the Lord to give an account of our life to Him. Yes, it could be painful in some ways, but He will spare us from the severe judgment He has in store for those who are disobedient to Him. In the end we get to be with Him in Heaven, because He cherishes us as His own special treasure.
