The Time of the End
How long will it be until Jesus Christ returns and the end of time as we know it comes to an end? No one except the Father knows the answer to that question. Even Jesus is seated at the right hand of the throne of God, and He is waiting for the word from the Father to return. However, God gave the prophets special insights into what will happen in the last days. Daniel was especially blessed by God with this knowledge because of his heart for God and his desire to know. God even showed Daniel some things which would be sealed up until the time of the end. (Daniel 12:4) Then, God showed Daniel two characteristics of the end of time. It will be a time when many shall run to and fro. It will also be a time when knowledge will increase. Does that sound familiar? It should.
No one knows the day or the hour of Christ's return, but God told us, as believers, to discern the signs of the times. God showed us many of those signs in His Word. Wars and natural disasters will become more frequent and more severe like the labor pains of a mother giving birth. Many people will be led astray by many false teachers. Those are just a few signs. Then, Daniel told us that it will be a time when many people run to and fro. I don't know about you, but I can't see how that could take place much more than it is right now. In cars, planes, and trains people are going everywhere they desire to go, and they are able to do it very quickly, even traveling to the far side of the earth. Also, it will be a time when knowledge increases. The Internet has caused an explosion of knowledge that is available to anyone with a smart phone. All we have to do is search for any subject and an abundance of facts pop up to be considered. All of this points to the reality that Jesus could come at any moment now, and we all need to be ready. Only the ones who know Jesus in a personal relationship as Lord of our lives are ready. All the rest will be left out of heaven for eternity. The Good News is that salvation is a free gift for all who repent of their sins, put their trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior, and surrender to Him fully as Lord. Please, do that today, and let me know if I can help in any way.
