God Will Heal Our Apostasy

 When we drift away from the Lord, as believers, we can adopt false beliefs. We listen to other people and to the media, and we can begin to believe the opposite of what the Bible says about God and the world. If we stay away from the Lord long enough, and we hang out with the wrong influences too much, we can even begin to spread those false beliefs to others and cause harm to the cause of Christ. This is apostasy. I have seen this happen many times, myself, and we see it happening all around us today. However, if we will hear the message of the prophets, like Hosea, we will return to the Lord and seek Him for what to believe and how to live in this world. Then, God will take action on our part. (Hosea 14:4) God will heal our apostasy. He will freely love us, because He will have turned His anger away from us. I pray we will all consider this important truth today.

Why do we believe what we believe? I hope we all know better than to get our theology from the media or social media. I hope we have not read books and articles that go against the clear teaching of Scripture, and then changed our views to align with the authors of those materials instead of what the Lord has said. Please, remember the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and there is only one true interpretation. Yes, people will disagree on it, but only God's meaning, the absolute truth, is the correct meaning, which we can discern well by the leadership of the Spirit as we understand the full counsel of God contained in all of the Bible. This is why we need to take stock of what we believe and why. We need to return to the Lord and be very open to Him and His Word, so that we ask the Spirit to show us the right beliefs, not apostasy from this world. Then, we will experience the Lord freely loving us in our righteousness, and we will know His anger has turned away from us.
