Finding God

I want to begin by saying that I know God is revealing Himself to us. He comes after us, so He is not hard to find. However, He can be pursuing us, and we still will not find Him, if we fail to do one thing. I would say that thing is very important, wouldn't you? Jeremiah told us how to find God, as he sent the letter to those in exile to encourage them. He assured them that God would restore them to the land of Israel after 70 years. However, first they had to do the right thing. (Jeremiah 29:13) God told them that they would seek Him and find Him, when the searched for Him with all their heart. I wonder how many have given up on finding God before they got to that point?

God is not looking for people who will follow Him half way. He is not calling us to be half-hearted disciples. God loves us all so much that He gave His Only-Begotten Son to die for us, to give us His all. God is looking for people who will search for Him with all of their hearts, because He wants them to give Him their whole heart when they find Him. God wants a fully engaged, satisfying relationship with each of His children. For that to happen, we have to be all in like He is. Therefore, if you have searched for God, but you have not found Him, let me say this. It is not God's fault. It is not because God doesn't exist. It is not that Jesus didn't really die and rise again for our sins. The problem is with how you are searching for Him. I challenge you now to search for Him with all your heart, and I promise you will find Him, just like He told the exiles in Jeremiah's day. Then, give Him all of your heart to fully follow Jesus as Lord and Savior. You will never regret giving your all.
