A House of Prayer for All Nations
God is not a "respecter of persons." He doesn't look at a person's face or ethnicity. God looks at the heart of each individual person and bases His relationship with him on what He finds there. Sometimes, the Jewish people felt like they were the only ones who could know and worship God, but their exclusivity was a sin. They were to help tell all peoples about the one True God. God made this very clear to Isaiah. (Isaiah 56:6-7) All the foreigners who would join themselves to the Lord to minister to Him, to love the name of the Lord, and to keep the Sabbath without desecrating it and hold firmly to God's covenant would be brought to His holy mountain to let them rejoice in His house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices would be acceptable on God's altar, for God's House will be called a House of Prayer for all nations. This promise is still for all people today.
Jesus is God who became man, the God/Man. He made it very clear when He came to earth that the temple was a "House of Prayer." Jesus came to die for the sins of the world. He desires all to be saved. He sent out His disciples to make disciples of all people groups, and that is our commission still today. The church is a family of people who welcome all people to come to the Lord and worship Him. Then, we are to go to all types of people and love them and share God's good news with them. I pray we all will do this with all our heart.
