God Goes Before Us

 Many people live in fear. They are so unsure of themselves and their abilities that they are scared to try anything new or venture out of their comfort zone. Others have a severe lack of self'-esteem. They think that they inferior to everyone else. This also makes them shrink back and to think that they cannot accomplish anything worthwhile. Believe me, God does not want anyone to live in such fear and self doubt. He is there for us, if we will call on Him, and He can solve these needs. The answer is fairly simple. David found the answer when he was going to attack the Philistines. First, David prayed to God to show him what to do. Then, God answered, and David obeyed. (I Chronicles 14:15) God assured David that if he would wait to attack until he heard the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees that God would have gone before him to strike down the enemies. What a God we have! He is there to go before us and prepare the way. I pray we all know this and live by this truth.

As I have said many times, God is All-powerful, All-wise, and able to be everywhere in the world at the same time. There is nothing that God can't do except the wrong thing. I pray we all know these things and rest in them every day. Then, when we need to overcome fear or uncertainty, all we need to do is to pray for God's direction. If we are a faithful child of God, He will answer us and make His directions clear. Then, we can go forward to accomplish His will knowing that He has gone before us and He stands beside us to empower us. He even gives us signs by His Spirit, who is in us, like the sound of marching in the trees. Those things give us assurance that our God cares, and He will take care of us and what we need. Let's quit trusting in ourselves. Let's quit doubting ourselves. Let's trust the Lord and never doubt His great love to go before us every step of the way, as we trust Him and do His will.
