Salvation by Grace through Faith
God knew the only really fair way to offer salvation from sins to everyone in the world. He knew if it was through any works of any kind, some people would not be able to accomplish those works and be saved. That would be totally against the love of God. God loves everyone who is born into this world. Therefore, He had to make a way of salvation that was open to all people. That is exactly what He did. Paul explained it well in his letter to the Christians at Rome. (Romans 4:16) God made salvation by faith in Jesus alone, because only then could it be by grace. Only then, was it obtainable by all, for all people can exercise faith Therefore, whether they were Jews or Gentiles, whether they are of the Law of God or not, it is equally as fair, since anyone can trust Jesus as Lord and Savior, and thus receive salvation as a gift, not as a result of any work. I hope we all get this vital point.
If any of us hears and sees the revelation of God to us, as individuals, we can choose to put our faith in Him. When we look at His creation He reveals Himself to us. When He speaks to our hearts, we know God is alive. When He punishes us for our sins, we can see what He is doing, and we can trust that God is over all. Then, when we exercise faith in God, He also reveals Jesus to us, so we can choose to put our trust in Him for salvation, since He died to give us salvation. However, if we grow up in church doing a lot of good things, we still have to choose to put our faith in Jesus personally. The same is true for us if we never saw a Bible or a church. We can choose to put our faith in God and in Jesus, so we can be saved. It is never by works. It is always by faith, because that makes it equally as possible for all people.
